As a Level 1 Infrastructure Monitoring – File Transfer specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the smooth operation of file transfer activities within the organization’s IT infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in identifying and resolving file transfer-related incidents, performing routine checks, and escalating complex issues to higher-level support teams. Your primary focus will be to maintain the reliability, security, and availability of file transfer processes and associated systems.
Key Responsibilities:
File Transfer Monitoring:
- Monitor file transfer systems and associated infrastructure components to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- Respond to alerts and notifications generated by monitoring tools promptly and take appropriate actions to resolve issues.
Incident Identification and Resolution:
- Identify and diagnose file transfer-related incidents, such as failed transfers, errors, or delays.
- Perform basic troubleshooting to resolve common issues or escalate complex problems to Level 2 or Level 3 support teams.
File Transfer Administration:
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control for file transfer systems.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices in file transfer activities.
System Configuration and Maintenance:
- Assist in the configuration, setup, and maintenance of file transfer protocols, such as FTP,SFTP, SCP, and AS2.
- Perform routine system checks and updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
File Transfer Performance Monitoring:
- Monitor file transfer performance metrics to identify potential bottlenecks or areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with other teams to optimize file transfer processes and enhance efficiency.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of file transfer configurations, incidents, and resolutions.
- Generate regular reports on file transfer activities and performance.
